Here are the Chinese's principle.
Sound like so pitiful because until old still need to...
enjoy work. Not really like force ourselves to love and
enjoy our career. The meaning is.....
Like Mr Kong, he is 70++ but still want to be
a lecturer in scm. The reason is he is really LOVE in teaching.
So he is enjoying his work now.
My idea come from zac's latest post,
he talks anout practicing. sometimes I
feel that chinese are so hardworking.
how about Malay???

Human beings must works.

When you are not competent, learn.

When you are competent, do it yourself.

When you are not familiar, practice more.

When you want to work, start immediately.

When you are poor, work all the more.

When you are rich, work harder.

If work is done wrongly, correct it.

When you are old, enjoy working more.

6 fed her strawberries:

When you are rich, work harder.

When you are old, enjoy working more.

hm..these two sentence..not really agree.

first, if you are rich, why bother work harder? how much is it that will satisfy you? ya shud spend quality time with family with the hard-earned money...and i dun mean spend like water flow from the tap...but to balance btwn work and family..not work work work but neglect the loved ones.

and second..when u are old, enjoy working more..hmm..so if ur job is the only thing that evolves around you, then, congrats you are certified as a workaholic...hahah...well, for me, after a certain age, i just want to relax and spend more time with family...i don't want to work MORE when i turn 80. but i am not sayin dun work la...just..what is the point working more? better spend the precious time with loved ones..

:)

Agree with u too but...
the work harder if u are rich.
because u are rich now,
dun tell me u want 2 stop then let others chaste u right?
this is not kiashu........
somethg like..improving...
we cant step in the same place all the time......umm..i also hope that no need to work, can i??
hais...

no..i don't mean no need to work...but if you already rich, why bother work harder? so it's like work hard throughout ur whole life.and even if you are very rich, how much money u want that can satisfy you? it's infinity.once you have millions, u want billions, then trillions and so on...so...money is never enough even if u are rich...y not balance it up..work but dun work too hard...family is important too

i forgot...and health..there are many rich plp out there regret big time that they spend all their time on work and neglect family and their health..so, money doesn't really bring happiness...

=)

i understand berry's statement of "if u r rich, work harder" is a means of motivation & encouragement 2 those who really need it.
but as 4 me, i think in everything u do, do it wif ur best. it doesnt matter if u suck at wat u do & dun need 2 compare wif other ppl's success. juz give ur best shot. dun let other define ur success. if they r better than u, or in tis case richer than u, then let it be. let u urself define ur own success. somehow i feel it's quite ridicules if u wan 2 confine tis statement 2 working career only.

as 4 "when u r old, enjoy working more" cud meant as de above statement dat i made. but i'd rather take it as 2 enjoy wat u wan 2 do even when u r old. bcoz u'll nvr stop learning until u die. dat doesnt mean u still work like a bull when u r 80. again, i dun think i have 2 confine dat statement 2 working career again.

but still above all. in wat u do, do it best. even if in work or in family, do it best. doesnt mean u have 2 do da best in work but in family 2. my dad said tis 2 me b4 "when i die, i may not b a successful father in wat da world sees as giving da best education 2 my children, buying all da best things dat they wan, leaving behind millions of inheritance & so on. but i noe when i die, i'm a successful father when i teach u discipline wif Godliness, raise u up 2 be da man & women dat u all ought 2 be & more importantly 2 nurture each & everyone of u wif love." 4 me, dat is success. being a millionaire is not my goal & purpose in life. (no offence 2 chan. hehe)
there's more 2 tis life...
